Law Society: BME speed networking event

NOTICED, which is supported by the Law Society, encourages you to attend the Law Society’s second BAME networking event which brings together junior lawyers with senior lawyers from private practice and in-house. For practical advice on career development and progression this is a must attend event for aspiring lawyers.

CPD hours 2

On 27 September 2016, the Law Society is hosting a speed networking event aimed at black and minority ethnic solicitors. We know from a number of studies that networking and access to positive and visible role models is important to the career development of BAME solicitors. The aim of this event is to bring BAME solicitors, working in law firms, together with senior BAME solicitors working in corporate in-house departments and city law firms to network.

The event and the post-event networking drinks will provide ample opportunity for delegates and speakers to mingle and network.

In practical terms, the event will start with three keynote speeches focusing on the importance of effective networking, how it can benefit the career development of BAME solicitors, and how networking can be done well. This will be followed by a hour of speed-networking, during which time the attendees will spend 15 minutes at 3-4 different tables, each with its own ‘senior BAME host’. The networking will be group based.
